Egyptian Pyramids

How and Why were Egyptian Pyramids built?

Why were the Egyptian Pyramids Built?

The ancient Egyptians built pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs and their queens so they could travel safely to the afterlife with all the things they would need gold, food, blankets and even pets. The pharaohs were buried in pyramids of many different shapes and size most pyramids were built the beginning of the Old Kingdom to the end of the Middle Kingdon.

The techniques used to build the Giza pyramids were developed over a period of centuries, though they didn’t have the wheel as we think of it today, they might have made use of cylindrical tree trunks laid side to side along the ground. If they lifted their blocks onto those tree trunks, they could effectively roll them across the desert, but it is hard to believe it would work with the massive stones maybe they used this method to move the smaller limestone. There is no drawings or recording of how they moved the blocks of stone. I think the main challenge they would have faced was lifting the blocks up to the top. Ancient Greek historians born after the pyramids’ construction believed the Egyptians built ramps like scaffolding along the side.

Wind Powered Car School Project

Image result for wind powered car school project
Aim: To make the fastest wind power land boat and WIN!!!

Equipment List:
- 1 meter paper roll
- 2 meter tape
- Cardboard square
-Metal Rod
- Frame/Trolly

Method: Use the given frame/trolly and attach a normal shaped sail to the metal rod using the tape to tie it down, we will use a high-level leaf blower aiming it at the centre of the sail to push it the full ten meters.

Results:

We had a time of 14.7secs with a distance of 16.3, making a velocity of 1.14

Conclusion:
In conclusion, I notice that the bigger the sail the more wind it caught, in theory creating more speed increasing the distance. I think that if I had centred my sail and made it bigger I could have increased my distance to at least 20 meters.

I think the weather had a big part of my land boat did so well.

Essay Planning

The incident of when Zelie found Amari in Lagos and helped her
escape helped me to understand the idea of the importance
between friends and family because it shows me that even if you don't know someone helping them is the right thing to do because it might really help them in the future. We can link this to the text when the admiral plunges her sword through Lekan's heart. Lekan saves Zelie from falling putting his life in danger.
